What Happens During Renewal?
The renewal process may include several parts:
Updated physician evaluation: A Michigan-licensed physician, either an MD or DO, reviews the Troy patient’s current medical condition and determines whether the patient still qualifies for the MMMP.
Updated documents: Troy patients may need current proof of Michigan residency or identity, such as a Michigan driver’s license, Michigan state ID, or another accepted document. A new physician certification may also be required.
Renewal application: After certification is completed, the renewal application is submitted to the Michigan Medical Marijuana Program. Some eligible Troy patients may renew online, while others may submit a paper application.
State fee: Michigan charges a $40 renewal application fee. This fee is separate from any physician evaluation, consultation, or appointment cost.
